carolyn dVerified All-time experience. All-time crew! Amet was amazing from start to finish. Truly. My bestie and I planned a trekking trip - along with a short safari - at the very last minute. Kelvin answered every question I had right away and worked quickly to set up a trip that best suited us. I can’t say enough about the crew that took us up Mount Kenya. David and Juma were outstanding guides and navigated us to the summit with care and PURE JOY every step of the way. The cooks kept us fed with yummy food (vegan to boot!) and the porters carried our heavy loads with smiles on their faces. We loved rack of them! Alex guided us expertly on our safari in Maasai Mara and made sure our experience was exciting, fulfilling and surprising (he made sure we got to see my favorite animal, the cheetah, at the end of an already incredible day). When we got caught in a torrential downpour (one that rendered other drivers helpless and stuck in the mud for hours), Alex got us safely out of the reserve with all the confidence in the world. Kenya will always hold a very special place in our hearts thanks in large part to Amet. I couldn’t recommend them more…🤩🤩🤩🤩 🤩 Kerry LVerified 2 Days - Tarangerie Safari and visit to Hadzabe and Datoga tribes Custom made tour as I only had 2 days and wanted to see it all. This 3-day Masai Mara safari promises to deliver breathtaking wildlife moments and stories you will cherish forever.
Practical Logistics: Nairobi to Masai Mara Transfers
We offer two seamless options to transport you from the city to the heart of the Mara:
The Fly-In Safari (45 Minutes): This is the ultimate luxury and time-saver. You will take a short, scenic scheduled flight from Nairobi directly to one of the regional Masai Mara airstrips. This allows you to start your game drives almost immediately upon arrival.
Road Transfer (5-6 Hours): For travelers who prefer to see the Kenyan countryside, a comfortable road transfer is available in one of our custom 4×4 safari vehicles. This option is typically longer but provides a different perspective of the landscape as you approach the Reserve.
Regardless of your chosen transfer, all ground transportation within the Masai Mara is conducted in a robust, custom-built safari cruiser with a pop-up roof for optimal viewing and photography.
The Best Time for a Masai Mara Safari
Best Overall Time: July to October (Great Migration Season)
Why it’s special: This is when the Great Wildebeest Migration reaches the Masai Mara from the Serengeti. Millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River, often with dramatic predator-prey action.
Wildlife: Excellent—huge herds, big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs), elephants, giraffes, and more.
Weather: Dry, sunny, and pleasant. Fewer mosquitoes.
Safari experience: Peak season. Incredible game viewing, but also more tourists and higher prices. Check out our 4 Days Maasai Mara Migration Safari.
April to May (Long Rains Seson)
Why it’s less ideal: Heavy rains make roads muddy and some lodges may close. Wildlife is harder to spot due to thick vegetation.
Upside: Very few tourists, discounted rates, and dramatic skies for photos.
Downside: Wildlife is more dispersed and some areas may be inaccessible.
