The Ngorongoro Highlands hike offers spectacular sceneries along the trails. From forest walks, mountains, craters, Maasailand and the Rift Valley, these are some of the treat you can expect as you explore this 3 days Northern Tanzania hike at the heart of Rift valley where the local Maasai inhabitants coexist with wildlife in harmony.

The Itinerary

Day 1:-Moshi to Ngorongoro Crater

Pick up early from Moshi around 6:00 am and drive to Ngorongoro approximately 5 hours drive upon arrival you will descend the 600m high walls to the floor of the crater and get up close with one of Africa’s seven natural wonders! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the most beautiful and unique places in Africa. Here you will find a haven of African wildlife and you might also be lucky enough to witness the endangered Rhino! Enjoy picnic Lunch in the crater and thereafter transfer to Nainoka Campsite.

Day 2: – Nainoka to Olmoti crater trek

Breakfast at the camp and enjoy a 2 hours trek to Olmoti crater and get back to the camp for lunch then transfer by vehicle for about 37 km to Empakai from where you will Descend to the Empakai Crater explore the crater guided by an armed ranger, overnight at Empakai Campsite.

Day 3: – Empakai to Nayobi –Moshi

Today we rise early and after breakfast head out to Nayobi village enjoy great Scenery along the great rift valley’s escarpment as you head to Ngorongoro gate enjoy game drive enroute followed by a transfer back to Arusha /Moshi
