12 Days Kenya and Tanzania safari

Tour overview

This tour combines top National parks and reserves in Kenya and Tanzania for a perfect wildlife experience in both countries accommodation is based on mid range level hotels/Lodges and tented camps  while you have an option to customize accommodation choice to suit your budget.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Nairobi

 There will be a pick up by Amet adventures driver-guide at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after clearing with the immigration officials. You will be transferred to your city hotel for rest and leisure. You may have an optional city tour at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight will be at City Hotel.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

 Breakfast will be served early in the morning. Drive southwards to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at Fisi Camp in time for lunch. Have an hour rest. Have an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Get introduced to the herbivores; elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the variety of antelopes, the Maasai giraffe and the Burchell zebra. The carnivores are the black mane lion, cheetah and leopard. Also to be seen are the largest bird, the Maasai ostrich, the Secretary bird, the crested crane and saddle-bill stork. Crocodiles and hippos share the river. Dinner and overnight will be at the  Fisi camp.

Day 3: Full day at Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy your breakfast and after head to the Mara plains for a full day game drive experience.
Packed lunch will be served. Wherever you go in the Mara,you will see an astonishing amount of wildlife. Of the big cats, lions are found in large prides everywhere. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still fairly common. After the game drive, you will return to Olmoran tented Camp  or an  lternative Camp/Lodge accommodation on fullboard meal plan.
Note: There will be an optional early morning balloon safari ride (at a fee) across the Maasai Mara plain. Return to the camp for breakfast and then embark on a full day game drive with packed lunch. 

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park

Have breakfast at 7am at your camp. Check out. Drive through the cool Rift Valley environment towards Nakuru. Drive through the town and arrive at Hillcourt hotel in time for lunch. Have Lunch and then leave at 3.30pm for an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. It is a small park with over 50% of its area covered by the lake. Located in the middle of the Rift valley, Lake Nakuru has a wide variety of animals, including the Rothschild giraffe, lions, white and black rhinos as well as the Leopard. The park is also considered by birdwatchers as an ornithological paradise! A myriad of both greater and lesser flamingoes has made this lake their home. Dinner and overnight will be at the Hillcourt hotel.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park

Enjoy hot breakfast at the hotel at 8am. Leave for Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi. Proceed to Amboseli after lunch, arriving late in the afternoon for an en route game drive game towards Aa Lodge Amboseli. Check in. Embark on a short evening game drive, searching for the big herds of the African elephants, the cheetahs, lions, the gazelles and the elusive eland. With good weather, have a magnificent view of the Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Kibo safari camp

Day 6: Amboseli National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning and set out for the morning game drive. Return to the lodge for lunch. Embark on an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner. You will be able to see the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, the Big Five and more than 400 bird species. Dinner and overnight will be at Kibo safari camp

Day 7: Amboseli – Arusha via Namanga Border

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Amboseli returning to your lodge for breakfast. Depart for Tanzania border with picnic lunch boxes and enter Tanzania through Namanga. After you have done with immigration, exchange vehicles and proceed to Arusha arriving around 4:00pm for overnight rest. Dinner and overnight will be at Green Mountain Hotel.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park

 Have breakfast and set off on safari with your private car and driver to Tarangire National Park. Named for the river that nourishes the wildlife of a vast ecosystem, Tarangire is home to the elephant, zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, water buck, lion, giraffe, onyx and an unsurpassed diversity of birds. From June to November, masses of wildlife congregate around the river, but the park is a stronghold for big game year-round. Have lunch at a picnic place prepared by your guide.  Dinner and overnight will be at Sangaiwe tented camp or Alternative.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. This legendary Serengeti Plain is a vast rolling plain whose sparse vegetation allows for some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. The annual migration of wildebeest amongst other animals is one of the park’s great attractions. Throughout the year, the Serengeti is excellent for seeing predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah, along with elephant, giraffe, hyena, hippo, rhino, and many varieties of antelopes and birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch as you drive to Serengeti. The evening is free to rest. Dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti Tortiris Tented camp.

Day 10: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

Have a breakfast early in the morning and  head out  for another day of game drive on the vast Serengeti plains. The Serengeti Ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals a picnic lunc will be served enroute continue with afternoon game drive as you head to ngorongor conservation area and finaly transfer to Ngorongoro rhino Lodge where  you will be spending the night on fullboard meal Plan.

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater

 Enjoy an early morning breakfast and set off with packed lunch for the Ngorongoro crater.Descend into the 600m deep crater for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive ecosystem which happens to be the home to the rare black rhino, leopards, cheetahs, lions,Buffaloes antelopes and other small mammals.

Ngorongoro crater  is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never disappoints . Enjoy a picnic lunch next to the hippo pools on the crater floor and Continue  with afternoon exploration throughout the various ecosystems of the crater, including woodland filled with zebra and baboon, plains that support scavenging hyenas and thousands of diffrent bird species  after your tour you will drive to Kudu Lodge for overnight on fullboard meal  Plan .

Day 12: Departure Day

Enjoy breakfast at the Lodge and drive to Arusha arrive in time for lunch followed by a  transfer  to the airport for your flight back home.
