5 Days Mt kenya Climbing-Naro Moru route
Tour overview
The Naro Moru route is one of the popular routes for climbing Mount Kenya. It is a relatively fast and direct path to Point Lenana, the third-highest peak. The trek begins in the montane forest, ascends through bamboo and heather zones, and finally reaches the rugged alpine terrain.
The route offers stunning scenery, including views of the Gorges Valley and the distinctive Diamond Couloir. However, it is a challenging climb, requiring stamina and acclimatization due to its steep sections and high altitude.
Best time to go.
All dry seasons from January to to march, June to Mid October and December.
The Itinerary
Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel or Jomo kenyata international airport and transfer to Nanyuki town
About 4 hours Where you will meet your guide and attend briefing for your upcoming trek. lunch and a possible afternoon leisure walk to the equator enjoying the magnificent scenery of Mount Kenya region. Dinner and Overnight stay at Simbas Lodge or alternative on BBbasis.
Breakfast at the Hotel followed by a transfer to the park gatestarting point. We walk through the montane forest; bamboo and giant heather zone before reaching the high altitude moorland arrive at Met Station for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Breakfast lunch and dinner.
Today is a very important day for acclimatization , After breakfast we hike up through the Teleki valley to Mackinders from here you will enjoy a spectacular view of the main peaks and thereafter head back back to MacKinders for lunch and afternoon rest in prepareation of summit attempt
Dinner and overnight stay at Mackinders Campsite.

Today we attempt reaching the Austrian Hut at 4790m. where we will take a break and wait for the sun risewe proceed along the ridge as it gets narrower finaly arrive at our long waited deatination lenana point at 4985m. we start our return back to Mackinders leave the campsite after midnight for the summit camp for breakfast trekking for about 4hours Then continue trekking down to Meteorological Station Lodge where we will be spending the night.

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest which is 9km to Naromoru Park Gate at where you will connect with your transport back to Nairobi,
