The Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Kogatende (Northern Serengeti National Park)
Make your way to Arusha Airport for your domestic flight departure to Kogatende, your entry to the world famous Serengeti National Park at Naabi gate. The Serengeti is unequalled for its beauty and scientific value and has come to symbolize the classic African Safari. With more than 2 million wildebeest, 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle, and 250,000 zebra, it has the largest concentration of plains game animals in Africa.
The camp crew will meet you at the airstrip and take you to camp for briefing and lunch. The afternoon game drive will be your first opportunity to soak up the wide variety of wildlife that call the Serengeti home. You will start your quest to see thousands of wildebeest crossing the Mara River and start learning about how and why the wildebeest migrate based on geology, soils, rainfalls etc
By evening sundowners and hot showers await. Sit around an open fire, under the stars and embrace being surrounded by the beauty and stillness of the bush and an open fire before enjoying a delicious meal & retiring for the evening to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2: Migration Safari – Kogatende, Northern Serengeti National Park
We will rise early and have a quick breakfast so that we can set off to enjoy the beauty of the bush at dawn. Our main aim today is to keep track of the migrating herds of wildebeest. Their patterns can be unpredictable as they follow their instincts for food and water. The days are flexible and we will stop along the way for lunch and to stretch our legs in a shaded spot or designated picnic area. This is a great time to do some bird watching. You have the option to return to camp for lunch.
After lunch you will set out again in your safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive – always keeping an eye on the Mara River and potential crossings as we watch and wait for the herds to gather in numbers and energy to make the challenging crossing. The late afternoon is a good time to search for lions or leopards, nocturnal creatures that tend to sleep in the heat of the day. Return to camp at sunset where there will be hot showers to wash off the African dust. Relax in camp with drinks and dinner, before retiring for the night.

Day 3: Migration Safari – Kogatende, Northern Serengeti National Park
We will arise early again to experience the beauty of an African sunrise. As always we head out early to look for big cats, wildebeest and as much as possible on the morning game drive, before our mid-morning stop for a break. Migration river crossings are usually top of the programme, and today’s safari will depend on the action at the Mara River.
There is always a choice and a decision to be made – to stay near the river, watching and waiting…or go exploring for big cats or the surrounding regions of the Northern Serengeti on the Lamai Wedge and Kuria Hills. The beauty of the Serengeti is unsurpassed with the endless horizons, big blue sky and smatterings of acacia trees and other shrubs, rocky outcrops or endless plains. If we have seen the big things, we like to focus on the small things and fine tune our senses to the smells, sounds, and smaller creatures. Come evening time we will once again wash off the dust and then settle in for a night around the campfire socialising, drinking and eating.
